Range of information available:

The Humber SMR is a collection of information relating to all known archaeological sites within Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Humber SMR has records of archaeological sites and finds dating from the prehistoric period until the post-medieval period, including Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Generally artefacts and sites dating up to and including 1700 AD are recorded. The SMR holds records of listed buildings, and other buildings of historic or intrinsic local, regional or national interest and also has records of buildings marked on the 1st edition OS maps and 20th century fortifications. The SMR comprises over 17,000 paper and computer records held on an exeGesIS database. There is also an extensive collection of Aerial Photographs and a slide collection of archaeological sites and finds from the region.

Please note: the EHER is open to public consultation but an appointment must be made in advance. We have a dedicated visitor desk and staff will show how information can be accessed. Photocopying is permitted at the current cost of 20p an A4 sheet, 40p A3 sheet (Concessions 10p for an A4 sheet and 20p for an A3 sheet).
Commercial consultations are charged a fee dependent on the time needed.
