Range of information available:
Our HER contains information such as known archaeological sites/finds, historic buildings (including listed buildings) and medieval ridge and furrow surveys.  Each record on the HER has various information sources behind it, many of which we keep at County Hall (fieldwork reports etc.).  We do not hold historic maps (i.e. Tithe maps), these are at the Record Office in Wigston, south of Leicester.

We prefer to answer requests by sending information digitally via e-mail.  The service is open to members of the public and archaeological contractors, though there is a charge for commercial consultations.  Appointments can also be made to visit the HER.

This information is correct as of 06 August 2008.
