Visitor Facilities:
Visitor desk. Access to SMR’s supporting reference materials. Photocopying and power points (but not internet connections) for laptops available. Disabled access. Facilities in Shire Hall include public restaurant & coffee shop.

Range of information available:
Databases, computer mapping, records and supporting collections relating to archaeological sites, historic buildings, and historic landscapes (Historic Landscape Character Assessment data is available). Supporting materials include large collections of excavation reports and aerial photographs, together with detailed record files and a general library.
In most cases the service is provided free of charge, except for photocopying costs etc. However, for commercial consultations, charges for staff time are made.
