Range of information available:
In addition to holding the Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) data and information about historic buildings, the HER comprises a series of computerised maps showing what the landscape of Coventry was like from the earliest prehistoric times to the 21st century. Many different sources of information are being used to help create the computerised maps, including historic maps such as tithe and inclosure maps, written documents, aerial photographs, archaeological fieldwork reports, published books, and unpublished research. These sources of information form an important part of the HER and many are available for viewing by the public.  The computerised maps are currently being compiled and it will be several years before they are complete but members of the public are welcome to request copies of the maps in their current state.

Information correct as at 05 January 2017
