Author notes west tower and north arcade, the shelley memorial window of 1869, two 17th century pews and the church plate (pevsner).

Author gives the dedication of the church to st. Thomas a beckett (cresswell).

The church, st. Swithin's, is a handsome stone building. It has a somewhat dominant victorian south aisle, built by edward ashworth, but the oldest part of the church, the doorway, dates from the mid c12 (griffith).
