Summary

Parish church with an early to mid 15th century west tower, with the body of the church almost entirely rebuilt in 1854-5. This was reduced to ruins by an incendiary bomb in 1940, and the post-war rebuilding was completed in 1952.

Of the old church, the west end and tower were probably rebuilt in the 15th century.(ellacombe).

A silver tankard of 1737, which once belonged to the church, was exhibited in the metropolitan museum of art in new york. It bears the exeter hallmark and the arms of osborne impaling duncombe (buck).

Ellacombe in 1854-5, and this in turn was reduced to ruins by an incendiary bomb in 1940; the post-war rebuilding (which was not a copy of ellacombe's work) was completed in 1952. Coursed rubble heavitree stone. Slate roof. West tower, nave,, north aisle, south porch, chancel, se vestry. See doe list for full details (doe).
