Road bridge. 1956-61. Designed by Mott Hay and Anderson. Steel. Single steel
latticework arch . The lower surface coming to a point at either end to rest
upon concrete cutwaters, the upper surface flattening out to run horizontally
to either end of central span. Road surface suspended from the arch. The span is
1,082 feet, the total length 1,628 feet. This was the largest steel arch in Europe when it was built.
