HER 3819 DESCRIPTION:-
The site of the partly-moated house of Elgar of Kinsbury (c1121) lies in a deep hollow at the foot of Painswick Hill, on the Gloucester side. There is a good spring there and indications of boundary ditches can be seen.{Source Work 862.}
The paper record refers to an article by W St Clair Baddelely in Journal of the British Archaeological Association, Vol 27, 1921, p105. This source could not be located. {Pers comm A Morris 24/09/2003.}
