2005 - Glouestershire NMP (Cotswold & Forest of Dean)
The earthworks of an area of pitting as a result of surface quarrying were seen centred at SP 1043 3305. This is named on the OS map as The Slate Pits (now under trees). This is presumed to be the remains of Post Medieval quarryng of the Chipping Norton Limestone, possibly for roof slates. This quarrying was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Gloucestershire NMP project. {Source Work 4249.}
