HER 6232 DESCRIPTION:- Listed Building Description: TIDENHAM B4228 SO 50 SE (east side) 6/215 Milestone at GR ST 559001 - II Milestone. C19. Stone, part limewashed, c 550 x 300 x 300 mm with rounded top, and face part cut-back with inscription 'To Chepstow 5 miles'. Located c100m north of the lane leading to Madgett Farm, and on the opposite side of the road. Listing NGR: SO5590000100 {Source Work 1042.} Recorded on the OS 2nd-3rd edition 25" maps of c.1900 and c.1925 as 'M.S Chepstow...5'. {Source Works 5136 & 5138.} 1983 - Clearly visible on verge, painted white with black lettering shallowly inscribed. Dimensions 50 cm tall x 30 cm wide x 30 cm deep "To Chepstow 5 miles inscribed on lower half. Indicates a toll pike road. Needs painting {Pers. comm. J.
