Chantry Bridge and Chapel, Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Chantry Bridge and Chapel, Rotherham, South Yorkshire,Historic England
Historic England
Reference Number: AA98/05091

Few medieval chapel bridges survive. One example is the Chantry Chapel and Bridge spanning the River Don in Rotherham, which was built in 1483 with money from local people. Following the Reformation it was converted first into an almshouse and later into a prison, and was only restored in the early 20th century.
