Large ditch of Roman date

HER 968 AREA DESCRIPTION:-
A large ditch was recorded during an excavation in 1984-6. Aligned east-west the ditch cuts the one of the Roman period inhumations. No burials were found within the ditch fill. The ditch appears to date form the early 2nd century or late 1st and was still open in the 4th century. The ditch apparently contained a number of human skulls. {Source Work 13012 & 13232}
