Full Description

A complex area of earthworks representing the remains of a deserted medieval settlement. The earthworks survive to the west of the modern road and include the line of the former road. Some individual plot boundaries and house platforms survive, but the earthworks have been damaged by later clay pits, by ploughing and by drainage works. To the east of the modern road, fieldwalking retrieved pottery dating to the 12th-14th centuries as well as Roman material. The medieval settlement is thought to have been a planned development.
