Full Description

A post mill, date of construction not known. No mill is shown on the site on the 1796 Enclosure Map, but the Mouse survey of 1624-1628 mentions a field name of "Myllway Furlong", and the Glebe Terrier of 1702 also mentions the mill. The mill is then shown on an estate map of 1823, so it is possible that a previous mill was rebuilt in the early 19th century. The mill continued working up to 1916, was struck by lightning in 1946 and was demolished in 1965.
