Full description
1. In July 1643 woods belonging to Jesus College were cut down probably in connection with the construction of breastworks in Jesus Lane and a fort at the end of Jesus Lane at Four Lamps road intersection. At the end of the Civil War the fort was demolished, whilst other defences (possibly running through Jesus Green, Parker's Piece, Christ's Pieces and along Lensfield Road) were allowed to erode naturally.
