Full description

R1, Fordham. Fortified during the rebellion of the Earl of Essex, 1143 - 1144 (C12).

O2, Field investigation revealed no earthworks or other evidence of fortification in the vicinity of Fordham. CCC Archaeology (R2) have no information relating to defences, and inspection of the inclosure map of 1809 proved negative.
