Full description

The settlement of Pengersick is first recorded as "Pengersiec" in 1197 (b1). The name is Cornish and contains the elements pen 'head, top, promontory' and cors 'reeds, fen' (b3). Pengersick stands near the east edge of Praa sands, hence its name (b2).
