Full description
Russell observed the traces of a stone circle lying immediately west of the remains of the western circle (16152.02) within cultivated land on the lower slopes of Truthwall Common from air photos (h1, b1, p1). The site was visited by Fletcher for the OS in 1975 (h2) together with a recent visit by Sharpe for CAU in 1985 (h3, b2). The site is now under cultivation, so nothing definite can be seen in the field. Geophysical survey may be useful here to see whether a third stone circle was once extant, forming part of the ritual complex 16152.
