Full description

House B at Carn Euny was excavated by Christie in 1967 (h2). The house has only one chamber divided by a partition, and consists of a curved wall lying immediately to the west of House A (28920.01). It is badly disturbed by the ditch crossing the site from House A (b1). Excavation south of the ditch showed occupation to be completely destroyed by cultivation in modern times. House E (28920.05) and House F (28920.06), together with House B could represent the fragmentary remains of a courtyard house. The finds, which support this theory, include decorated sherds, including fragments of a cordoned jar, and a fragment of bronze fibula (b2). A granite quern was also found (b1). The monument was included in the Schedule on 28/9/1934 and the scheduling was updated 18/3/1996.
