Full description

House J at Carn Euny is situated on the north side of Courtyard House I (28020.10) and was excavated by Christie during the final season, 1970 and 1972 (h2). Traces of earlier occupation were preserved in part of the stone house. The floor on the north side of Courtyard House I had been deliberately dug away, possibly in an attempt to level the interior, and this had resulted in the earlier deposits within House J having been destroyed. An arch of walling on the east of the entrance passage was found. Within this two course wall some paving and the remains of rab flooring survivied (b1). The monument was included in the Schedule on 28/9/1934 and the scheduling was updated 18/3/1996.
