Full description

Part of a large barrow group most of which is now destroyed (4666) (1). A severely mutilated barrow which is a Scheduled Monument. It is marked on the OS maps of 1933, 1963 and 1974, and in 1952 was described by the IAM as being 16.5m in diameter by 1.2m - 1.5m high, with about one third of the mound remaining (h1). In 1962 the remains were re-surveyed by the OS (h2). The main part of the mound is covered by rough grass. The location of this barrow can be identified on aerial photographs taken in 1969 (2). Analysis of lidar imagery by the North Cornwall RCZAS has recorded the barrow as surviving as a mound 12m in diameter and up to 1m high (3).
