Full description

The bishops palace or manor house at penryn, which drew its importance from the foundation of glasney college in 1265 (see prn 18660), was situated se of the college on the e side of the junction of hill head and eastwood road (b8). It contained a chapel (prn 18661.12) And stood at the edge of the bishops deer park (prn 18661.13). Nothing remains of the palace except for 2 carved pieces of masonry incorporated into hillside bungalow, which are described by wingfield. The palace was re-used as a farm house (prn 18661.2) And subsequently a prison (prn 18661.3) After the reformation.
