Full description

One of two further earth and stone bastions identified by the OS field worker (h1). They have both been partially destroyed by coastal erosion, though their banks remain in part up to 0.6m high by 2.0m wide. These are part of a group of four batteries (7454) and are connected to breastwork (7455). In 1988 (h2) the battery was found to be defined by a bank of earth and stone running north west - south east across a small promontory; with a hollow on its south west (landward) side, now a disused path but probably originally a ditch. The bank averaged 1.0m wide and 0.2m high inside and 0.4m high outside. The probable remains of a ditch averaged 1.0m wide and 0.1m deep.
The monument was included in the Schedule on 16/11/1998.

Not located in 2008-10 (2).
