Full description

A pillbox is visible at this location, at the road junction to the SE of Falmouth School, on vertical aerial photographs taken in 1951 (p1). The pillbox, which was demolished during road widening, was recorded during the Defence of Britain Project (AH62). It formed part of a defensive ring to the west of Falmouth, designed to prevent an attack on the port from inland.
