Full description

1> Well presederved length 170' with bastion. Part of bank at rear remains. This
stretch has been dated by excavation to the 15th century. Few loose stones at SW end, 4'
high up to bastion (circ, hollow 10' high) and further short length beyond.
Bank behind wall. No buildings now adjoin. Main section c5' high and capped
with concrete, where angle changes at S end only 2'6". Some brick patching in
inner face of bastion. The vevel inside the walls (ie to E) is higher than
outside, so only small part of E face is visible, this has been much botched
with concrete.
