A square ditched enclosure of unknown but possibly later prehistoric date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as a cropmark approaching 50 metres across on Milford Common, Hartland parish. The cropmark of the ditch is between 2 metres and 4 metres wide and encloses an area of circa 0.2 hectares on gentle north facing slopes, overlooking a north-flowing stream in a combe immediately to the east. The cropmark is not visible on later aerial photgraphs available to the survey.
