A small rectangular structure of probable Second World War date is visible on Northam Burrows on aerial photogrpahs of the 1940s. It measures circa 11 by 3 metres in size, orientated north to south. The function of the structure is uncertain but it might be associated with a probable military building circa 70 metres to the north. Alternatively it might be part of Northam Burrows golf course. The structure has probably been removed or replaced by 1967, but a pale parchmark visible on aerial photographs taken between 2006 and 2007 suggests that below-ground remains may survive. Additional structures and a possible water tank were built in the 1970s and 1980s, the base of which remains visible.

Passmore, A., 2014, Northam Burrows, Northam, Devon: Higher Level Stewardship Scheme Archaeological Survey, 6 (Report - Survey). SDV356810.

An earthwork-covered structure, with two attached posts or masts.
