A mast and associated structure, probably a communication site of Second World War date and military function, are visible as structures in a rectangular fenced compound to the north of Long Lane, Georgeham parish, on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards. The site is depicted on the current Ordnance Survey digital base map and remains visible on digital interactive images derived from aerial photographs flown in April 2010. A few changes are apparent during this time, including the possible enlargement or replacement of the main structure, the replacement of the original pylon-like mast with a tower square in plan, and the relocation of the mast from the north to the south of the structure. The original location of the mast base remains visible on aerial photographs of 2010. It is possible that original Second World War structures survive on this site.

Ordnance Survey, 2012, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV348725.

The current compound and structures contained within are depicted.
