Summary
A possible quarry pit is visible as a dark oval cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1956. Any quarry here would probably predate the late nineteenth century, but caution must be applied in interpretation as it is not visible on other available aerial photographs.

No quarry is depicted in this location.

A possible quarry pit is visible as a dark oval cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 1956. It is circa 18 by 9 metres in size and less than 200 metres to the south of a disused quarry that survives as an earthwork. No quarry is depicted in this location on late nineteenth century mapping and any quarry in this location would therefore predate this. However it is not visible on other available aerial photographs and caution must be exercised in interpretation.
