Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

A linear earthwork bank, up to 4 metres wide and 150 metres in length, is visible on the hillside above Saunton Sands on aerial photographs taken between 1941 and 1952. The bank is straight and contiguous with an extant boundary to the north and is interpreted as a post-medieval or modern field boundary bank. No boundary is depicted in this location on the 1841 Tithe map, suggesting that it had become degraded and fallen out of use prior to the mid nineteenth century. Survival of the earthworks is not clear, as the area is now obscured by scrub growth.
