A Royal Observer Corps Type B Orlit post for aircraft observation during the Cold War is visible on aerial photographs between 1957 and 1969. It is circa 2 by 3 metres in plan and raised on four posts, it is mostly unroofed with the exception of approximately 1 metre on the west side for the shelter and store, and sited within a rectangular enclosure measuring circa 6 by 7 metres. It is not visible on 1940s aerial photographs, consistent with other known Orlit posts, and appears to have been removed between 1969 and 2001, presumably having been replaced during the 1960s by the Royal Observer Corps underground monitoring post just to the east. Very little survived when visited in 2000.

Only a junction box and fitting for headset of the aircraft post were observed when visited in 2000.
