Ditch defined square or rectilinear enclosures and possibly associated ditched field boundaries potentially of Iron Age or Roman date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs of 1976 on a north-facing combe slope to the south of Brinscott Farm. The cropmarks have been interpreted as showing two conjoined square or rectilinear enclosures, measuring at least 34 metres to a side, overlooking the combe of a tributary of the River Yeo. The enclosures overlie, or are overlain by, a possible pit alignment. Similar pit alignments elsewhere have been interpreted as possible agricultural land division boundaries of Iron Age date. A narrow linear cropmark orientated south-west to north-east which appears to overlie the possible enclosures might be of more recent date. The cropmarks are not visible on later aerial photographs available to the survey.
