An oval pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs between 1946 and 2010. Its maximum dimensions are 10 by 18 metres and it is likely to be twentieth century in origin, as no quarry or earthwork is depicted in this location on the 1904-1906 Ordnance Survey mapping. It has clear edges in 1946 and may have been one of many small pits in the vicinity that appear to have been used during the Second World War. Earthworks are likely to survive. A small roughly circular dark mark approximately 45 metres to the west is visible on the 1946 aerial photographs, and could be the remains of an earlier pit that has been infilled. However it is not visible on any other available aerial photographs and interpretation is doubtful so this possible feature has not been mapped.
