A probable quarry of post-medieval date is revealed as a large earthwork pit now obscured under Warren Wood, on digital images derived from Lidar survey data flown from 2001-2010. Over 60 metres in length and 30 metres broad, an adjacent field boundary appears to respect the location of the substantial earthwork pit. Although the quarry pit is not depicted, the diverted field boundary is shown on the Tithe map for Yealmpton and it is therefore probable that the pit was created and possibly passed out of use prior to the 1840s. It is unclear from the aerial photographic evidence alone what the product of the quarry was.
