A rectangular structure, approximately 4.5 metres in width and 11 metres long, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945. Its size and shape are broadly consistent with an interpretation as a Nissen-type hut and this may have been a temporary building with military function during the Second World War. It is possible that it was deliberately sited inland from the nearby ruinous square building depicted on maps from the mid nineteenth century (MDV70180), perhaps to mask it from view on the seaward side. It is not visible on any other available aerial photographs and is likely to have been removed soon after the war ended.
