A military base of Second World War date is visible as a range of structures on aerial photographs from 1941 onwards at Beesands. The camp covers an area of approximately 0.12 hectares and is located inbetween The Crab Pot and Bay View. The site is first visible on aerial photogaprhs of 1941 as comprising five nissen huts, a range of possible smaller structures and a main entrance to the southeast. By 1945, only two nissen huts to the west of the site remain visible as structures, with building platforms of two former huts also visible as demolished structures to the east. The structures appear to remain visible on aerial photographs of 1946, although the site has been cleared by 1976.
