Barn. Threshing barn. Later used as a shippon. A 16th-17th century threshing barn built down the hillslope to the north of the farmhouse and at right angles to the main front. In 19th century, a small extension was built to the east end and in 20th century the barn was converted to use as a shippon. A small link block in the angle between the farmhouse and the barn, but under the barn roof, is an implement shed. The roof is hipped. Chert; Rubble stone walls. Corrugated iron roof. A-frame. 6-bays. Replacement 19th century roof, with some reused timbers of large scantling. Various forms of A-frame, some with mortise and tenon joints at apex, others lap-jointed and truss at south end has a yoke. All collars are lap -jointed and nailed. 2 sets of back purlins (probably reused) and an enormous ridge. The north hip is a later construction. Door/s; Opposing doors to threshing floor. Plank threshing door to south, in a solid frame, with a glazed overlight. The north threshing door is a late 19th century plank and ledge door with a full height solid frame. Inserted 20th century garage door to north, at west end and two inserted windows to south front. The window to the left is a metal tilting casement in the blocking of a doorway and the window to the right is a metal- framed casement. Feeding passage. 20th century concrete and tubular steel cow stalls and a feeding passage to the farmhouse side. The garage has been separated off from stalls by a 20th century concrete block wall.
