Full description

Open -fronted cattle shed. 4-bay, gable -ended, open -fronted cattle shed, terraced into the hillside to the rear. Resident can remember hand milking cattle here. Chert; Limestone; Rubble stone walls. Roman tile roof. Double Roman tiles. Tie Beam Truss. 4-bay roof. Tie beam trusses with nailed, lap jointed X-apexes. Lap jointed, nailed collars of slender scantling. One set of back purlins on cleats. Open front. Roof over open front originally supported on timber posts. These later replaced with stone piers. Cobble floor. Back of floor raised and cobbled, with kerb of blue lias, which drains off to south end. Currently used for domestic utility / storage; Garage - domestic.
