A circular structure, circa 12 metres in diameter, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1947. It is sited just west of St Matthew’s Church and is likely to be a Second World War Emergency Water Supply reservoir. It appears to be water filled in 1946 but the sides may have been removed by 1947. By 1949 only a slight earthwork was visible, suggesting that this structure was dismantled soon after the war ended. It is possible that some below-ground remains may survive.
