Full description
Devon and Somerset County Councils, 2000-2002, Historic Farmsteads Database, BH227.2 (Machine readable data file). SDV349681.
Lower Shippon. Shippon. Originally, a 4 bay lofted shippon with a hipped roof at the west end. Chert walls. Corrugated iron roof. Tie beam truss. 5 tie beam trusses, mortised and tenoned and pegged at apex. 2 diagonally set ridges. Drain hole/s. Two full height inserted doorways with 20th century metal doors to front (south). At west end of front wall, a blocked doorway with an arch over. Two windows in west end wall, with drain hole below. Hayloft. Stubs of beams in rear wall indicate that it was once lofted, possibly only part lofted. Currently used as for domestic utility/storage; garage - domestic.
