A possible gun pit of Second World War date is visible as an earthwork bank on aerial photographs of 1943 onwards, to the southwest of Strete. The earthwork bank is semi-circular in shape, measures approximately 7.5m across and remains visible on aerial photographs up until 1946, having been completely levelled by 1951.
