The site is symbolised as an orchard on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of the 1880’s-90’s.

Orchard banks of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible as a series of broad linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the west of Linhayes Farm, Lympstone. The site is symbolised as an orchard on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of the 1880’s-90’s and occupies an area of approximately 0.28 hectares of land which borders onto the farm. It comprises a series of parallel, linear earthwork banks which are northeast to southwest aligned and contained within a single plot. The earthworks remain visible up until 1969, although are not clearly visible on aerial photographs or digital images after this date and may have been largely levelled.
