A linear ditch is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in low light conditions under snow cover in 1963, and on images derived from Lidar data captured in 2006. It is approximately 3-4 metres in width, aligned east to west for 120 metres then turning at its eastern end to head southwards for 50 metres. The east-west section may have been flanked by two linear banks, visible as pale features, perhaps where snow cover has taken longer to melt. This suggests that it could have been a hollow way, potentially associated with the medieval village suggested in this location (MDV14046), although this interpretation is tentative. Earthworks are likely to survive.
