Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2013-2014, South Devon Coast Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV351146.

Former field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as cropmark ditches on aerial photographs of 1975, to the southwest of Knappe Cross House, Brixington. The former boundaries comprise two broadly parallel, north to south aligned cropmark ditches which taper inwards to the north. The eastern of the two also turns sharply towards the northwest at it northern extent. The former field boundaries generally respect the historic field patterns and may be of potential medieval date, although if so the boundaries appear to have passed out of use by the time of the Withycombe parish tithe map of approximately 1838-48. The cropmarks were not visible on other aerial photographs made available to the survey and the site has been completely levelled for residential development by 1996.
