Earthwork ditches of probable post-medieval to modern date are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, to the southwest of Withycombe Barton. The parallel earthwork ditches are northeast to southwest aligned and closely follow the contours of a moderately southeast sloping coombe. The ditches may form part of a catch meadow system which, if so, appear to tap a stream which rises further to the north. A second possible and more convincing catch meadow system is visible on the eastern side of the coombe. The earthwork ditches remain partly visible on aerial photographs of 1998, although have been completely levelled and the site developed for residential housing by 2000.
