Field called Little Blackland on Tithe Map/Tithe Apportionment (Tithe Apportionment N0. 225 [sic]). Names with a 'black' element may refer to burnt deposits in the soil associated with burning of a former structure, industrial activity such as ironworking, or may refer to black/dark peaty soil.
