Some memorial halls, such as Halberton, were converted existing buildings such as schools or pubs.

The Hall has a long history firstly as an Inn, dating back to the 17th Century. Nearly 100 years ago, after the Great War, it was purchased as a Memorial Hall for those who had served their country.
