The plot is recorded as 'Banks Coppice'.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

'Old Marl Pits' marked. The feature marked appears likely to correspond with Tithe Map field 36, although cartographic registration discrepancies make this uncertain.

Exeter Archaeology, 2003-2004, East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Archaeological Survey, 482, 483 (Archive - Survey). SDV351568.

Field called Banks Coppice on Tithe Map/Tithe Apportionment (Tithe Apportionment No. 36). Name possibly related to workings of marl pit in this area, but field to west is also called Banks

Bluesky International, 2016, LiDAR DTM data (0.5m resolution) Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONBs: 3 transects, LIDAR SY1994 Bluesky International DTM 24-APR-2016 (Cartographic). SDV359714.

A series of earthwork depressions are visible.

Sims, R., Knight, S. & Houghton, E., 2020-2021, East Devon AONB Lidar Assessment and Desk based Assessment (Interpretation). SDV363914.

A series of earthwork depressions are visible on images derived fom lidar data captured in 2016. The earthworks approximately correspond with a plot recorded as 'Bank Coppice' in the Tithe Survey, and correspond with 'Old Marl Pits' depicted on the First and Second Edition OS maps. They are interpreted as marl pits of post-medieval to early 19th century origin, that ceased extraction by the end of the 19th century.
