Full description
English Heritage, 2013, Intertidal and Coastal Peat Database: Devon, Record ID 445, ID 309, Laboratory code SRR-164 and ID 310, Laboratory code SRR-165 (Website). SDV350876.
Peat deposit on landward side of high water level. Year; 1979. Compacted Phragmites peat c. 0.3 m thick. Peat rests on silty clay, and is overlain by c.10m shingle. Collected 1973 and submitted by MWL Blackley, NERC Unit Coastal Sedimentation, Somerset.
ID 309, Laboratory code SRR-164. Borehole 4, sample location SX 821 410, depth of sample -4.32 m OD, dated sample description; upper 10 cm of peat deposit. Uncalibrated date 4300 ± 50, calibrated date -27.3.
ID 310, Laboratory code SRR-165. Borehole 4, sample location SX 821 410, depth of sample -4.62 m OD, dated sample description; basal 10 cm of peat deposit. Uncalibrated date 4770 ± 50, calibrated date -27.1.
