Full description

A circular earthwork pit is visible.

A roughly circular pit approximately 35 metres in diameter is visible as an earthwork to the south-west of Middle Weaver Farm on images derived from lidar data. The date and function of the earthwork are of unknown. The pit might be associated with a possible pond depicted immediately to the north-west on the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25 inch map, perhaps as an earlier phase of pond or possibly caused by a natural process such as erosion from a springhead. Alternatively the pit could be the remains of a former quarry. Further investigation is recommended.
